Beloved Sinclair Family,

We want to begin this letter with the certainty of these words from our Lord: He went to prepare a place for us with his Father, a place that our beloved pastor John Sinclair enjoys today in heaven. Finding out about this sad news has moved the Executive Committee of the Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Chile to send you this note of peace and consolation for your hearts. Receive by this means a hug from your chilean family in Christ, who recognizes in Rev. Sinclair a faithful servant of his Lord, who during his years on this land accomplished with gratitude and excellence the work of his Savior, specially in the Presbyterian Church of the City of San Fernando, in which he served as pastor since 1958 where, along with other ministerial tasks, he starts in 1959 the expansion of the beautiful sanctuary that until this very day stands in the heart of the city. Along with this, he was the founder of the English School (also in 1959), which had a nursery and an elementary school up to 6th grade and where the first Director was his beloved wife, our sister Maxime Sinclair. Unfortunately the school had to end its activity years later, due to lack of financing. Rev. Sinclair was always very prompted to serve and connect with the community in many social activities during his time here.

We know that Rev. Sinclair rests today in the arms of our Lord; he was our beloved fellow servant and we know that our God rewards those who seek him; He promised us that where He would be we will also be. We pray that God may bring peace to your hearts in the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said that whoever believes in Him, even if he is dead, will live.

Con mucho pesar y tristeza he recibido la noticia de la partida del recordado Pastor John H. Sinclair, que dejó una profunda huella evangelizadora en nuestra ciudad y que además creo un Colegio que lamentablemente hoy ya no existe, el Colegio Inglés Presbiteriano, que todavía se le recuerda.
Siempre mis padres; Washington y Luisa les recordaban con mucho cariño y mi madre en particular que compartió muy de cerca con Maxime, ya que éramos con Juan Marcos casi del a misma edad.
A toda su familia hago llegar un abrazo fraternal de contención y sentidas condolencias en estos difíciles momentos. Martín Vergara Miranda.   San Fernando, Chile, Enero 2021 

Mis sentidas condolencias a los hijos y familia del pastor Sinclair(Q.E.P.D) , quien fue nuestro pastor en la iglesia presbiteriana de San Fernando, Chile. Primer pastor del que tengo recuerdos de mi  niñez, y son muy gratos.. Que nuestro Dios los bendiga y les dé el consuelo ante tan  lamentable pérdida.

Familia Lippians Vivallo,  nuestras más sentidas condolencias a vuestro padre quien fuera nuestro Pastor en la amada iglesia Presbiteriana de San Fernando, y tenemos los más hermosos recuerdos de él y su gran familia, un abrazo fraterno.

David, Paul, Juan Marco, rogamos al Dios les entregue el Consuelo necesario  por la partida de vuestro  padre. Él fue muy querido  para nosotros. Fue el segundo pastor en nuestras vidas (niñez y adolescencia).
