John Daniel Pelham

John passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 21, 2017. He was born in Graceville, Florida and grew up in Plant City. He pastured various Southern Baptist Churches in Florida and Indiana while completing his formal education at Florida Southern College, Lakeland followed by his graduation at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1964. Upon completion of his service in the ministry, he pursued the life insurance and investments industry and returned to Florida in 1966 where he accepted the position of Regional Manager of Florida. He retired in 2009 after 43 years of service. He loved riding his horses, fishing and boating and being with his family whom he loved dearly. Survivors include his wife, Mary, sister Gladys P. Talley, sons Daniel Pelham, Donald Pelham and David Pelham; daughters Fronda C. Miller, Julia Pelham-Parchuke and Shannon M. Alford; 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave in Tampa on Wednesday, December 27 from 10AM-12PM with a service at 12PM and committal to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
