John Joseph Guile, born in Woodbridge, New Jersey on February 3, 1941 passed on Thursday, March 21. John, also known as Jack, was the last surviving child of Marie Ceblinski and John J. Guile, Sr. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Saporito.
Master Sergeant John J. Guile served in the United States Air Force for twenty years and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. John received the following medals during his service: Two Air Force Commendation Medals for Meritorious Service as well as The Airman’s Medal for Heroism during the Vietnam War.
John was very involved in his community and was recognized by Channel 10 News and received the “10 Who Care” Volunteer Service Award for being the Hillsborough County Coordinator for “Toys for Tots.”
John met his wife of 61 years, Berice Ann Taylor, while stationed in England and was married on June 11, 1962 in the city of Leicester. John’s wife passed in February of this year and he is survived by his two daughters, Kerry Guile Barbon and Tracy Guile. He also is survived by his three grandchildren, Taylor, Nikki and Jesse Barbon.
John was the most loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was one of those fathers who would let his young daughters put makeup on him while babysitting so his wife could attend a community event. He participated in his daughters lives as they were growing up by becoming a Girl Scout father, a Robinson Starlet father by chaperoning the Starlets to all of their functions, becoming a certified scuba diver with one of his daughters. John was a big kid at heart and loved taking his granddaughters to the theme parks.
Dad, pop pop, we love and miss you. You will forever remain in our hearts and cherished for the amazing man you were.
