Gavin was born on May 11, 1936 at his home in Wilkes-Barre, PA. to Wilfred James and Hannah (Burt) Feldman. He attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated in 1954. The following year he started his employment with Eastern Airlines. He met the love of his life, Roberta (Bobbie) Hughes Feldman, in 1957 and after a long courtship, married in 1960. Eastern Airlines transferred him and his family to Tampa, FL in 1971, when the “New” Tampa International Airport opened. There they raised five children who adored and cherished him. As his legacy of love and family continued, he was blessed with seven grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. Anyone who knew Gavin, knew his kind, gentle, loving, and caring nature. He was an active member of Incarnation Catholic Church for 40 years. There he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered as an usher and helped with the weekly collection and counting of church donations. When Eastern shut their doors in 1991, he went to work at Premier Schools Agenda. Once retired, he volunteered with The Red Cross at Town and Country Hospital and the local food bank. In 2011, he and his wife moved to Odessa, FL and became parishioners at Espiritu Santos Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan for the Bucs, Lightning, Rowdies, Rays, and Notre Dame. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Gavin leaves behind those who loved and cherished him. His wife, Bobbie, of 62 years. His sons, John Feldman Jr. (Carmel), Patrick Feldman (Dawn), Timothy Feldman (Kristi), and Kevin Feldman (Ana) and his daughter, Mary Bakanec (Brad). His seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Feldman, Gavin Feldman, Matthew Feldman, Kayla Bakanec, Sarah Bakanec, Kevin Feldman Jr., and Carolina Feldman. His brother Louis and sisters-in-law Roberta, Iva, and Ann Marie. Many loving nieces and nephews.
Gavin was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Bill and Joe.
