Barger, John William “Bill”, 61, of Tampa was born on November 19, 1953 in Springfield, IL to John and Ellie “Nellie” Barger who survive him. Also surviving him are his brother, David and nieces Rachel and Alexis of Traverse City, MI and his loving long time partner Kenneth DeFay. He passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015. At an early age, John was converted and baptized into the Baptist church. John spent his life caring for others as a nurse and respiratory therapist. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W. Fletcher Avenue, Tampa at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 6 and his remains placed in the columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Melech Hospice House, 11125 N. 52nd Street, Temple Terrace, FL 33617.
