Jewel Roquevert Morgan passed away peacefully at home with her family on February 15, 2024. She was 91 years old. Originally from her beloved hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana, she made Tampa home for over 50 years. Mrs. Morgan was a true artist in every way. Throughout her lifetime, she wrote lyrics to hundreds of songs, composed countless works of poetry, had a beautiful singing voice, and was a gifted vocalist. She was an accomplished fine artist, and created hundreds of original oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings. Among her many artistic interests, she loved to create greeting cards for family and friends with original artwork and poetry. One of her proudest accomplishments was achieving a lifelong dream of completing her higher education and earning her Registered Nursing degree. This she did after her children were grown.
Mrs. Morgan is pre-deceased by her parents John N. Roquevert and Camille I. Roquevert, her former husband William C. Trussell, her daughter, Cynthia L. Trussell, and her husband Clarence C. Morgan.
She is survived by her brother Glenn Roquevert (Sherry), her children, Terri Farless, Libby Coggins(Henry), Aubrie Trussell, and Leslie Vance Blanchard, grandchildren Evan Sitar, Grant Farless, Jon Mayhugh (Rhiannon), Philip Coggins (Christie), Camille Greenfield, Morgan Kessler (Will), George Robert Blanchard III, William Blanchard, Colbert Trussell Blanchard, great granddaughter, Camilla Coggins and her beloved cat Binx.
A funeral mass will be held in her honor on March 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Christ The King, Catholic Church, 821 S. South Dale Mabry Hwy. Tampa, Florida. A reception will immediately follow at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa, Florida.
