She was born in Indonesia July 20, 1926. She was known as Mammie, Oma, Tante Anne and Anna. She had quite a long life including her days in concentration camps as a teenager. She had to endure so many difficulties including living in concentration camps to being basically forced to leave her country and making the difficult journey to the Netherlands then eventually to the great United States. She was everyone’s Oma and she always had the biggest smile.
She was a wonderful mother to her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Everyone that came to know her, loved her. She was such a strong, resilient woman even to the very end. She leaves behind her children; Ad, Leen, Franciska, Lucy/Linda, Wilma and 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. We are going to miss her and her sweet smile so much. We’ll always love you and hold you dear in our hearts.
