James Norman Knowles

Tampa, FL – A memorial service to celebrate the life of James Norman Knowles, Sr., 71, will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at Fowler Avenue Baptist Church, 6161 E. Fowler Avenue, Temple Terrace, FL 33614. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following services.

Mr. Knowles died December 15, 2018. Born October 11, 1947, in Tampa, FL, he was the son of the late Warren Arthur Knowles and Claire Delisle Knowles. HMC James Norman Knowles retired from the United States Navy after 20 years’ service as a medical corpsman attached to various Marine Corps units in the states and in Viet Nam. Following retirement from the Navy, he used his GI bill to become an RN, maintaining his place on the dean’s list all the while. He continued his nursing career another 12 or 13 years.

James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cynthia Eades, son, James Norman Knowles, Jr.(Lisa), daughter, Angelique Knowles Bowie (Thomas) and 4 grandchildren. Mr. Knowles was predeceased by brothers Fred Knowles and Warren Knowles Jr.
