JONES, James Robert, 87, died of natural causes on September 20, 2018. He was born in Sydney, Florida and was a class of 1950 Hillsborough High School graduate. James proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951-1955. Upon retirement from the American Can Company after 30 years James drove for Purolator Courier and then worked in The Hillsborough County Property Appraiser Office 9 years. James was a member of the Masonic Low Twelve Club in Riverview, Florida. As a member of Causeway Baptist Church, he was head of the Food Pantry for several years and has served as a Deacon since 1967. James Jones is preceded in death by his father, Ansel Jones, mother, Muriel Whitman, and sister, Annie Delores Chisholm. James was a loving husband and father, his passion for serving the Lord was evident in all aspects of his life. He is survived by Jean Jones, his wife of 62 years and children; Lori Holifer (Mark), Jeanie Jones (Ben), and Jimmy Jones (Johnette), 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, his church family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to charity of your choice.
