James Terrell Dunnam Jr. (Jimbo) age 51 of Tampa, Florida passed from this life into heaven on June 19, 2024. Jim was a loving, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on March 4, 1973, in Rockledge, Florida. Jimbo is survived by his wife of 23 years Michele Lee Hanke Dunnam; three incredible children Karis Lee 20, Keegan Michele 18, and Kierson Grace 7; his mother Betty Sue Holt Dunnam 91 of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters Susan Carol Dunnam Raines of Tampa, Florida and Mrs. Jamie Sue Dunnam Johnson (Tim) of Atlanta, Georgia; his aunts Mrs. Joan Dunnam Young (Herbert) of State Line, Mississippi, Kay Dunnam of State Line, Mississippi and Mrs. Kathleen Holt Just of Orlando, Florida and two nieces Kristin Suzanne Dixon of Denver, Colorado and Elizabeth Ruth Cox of Tampa, Florida. Jimbo is preceded in death by his father, Rev. James Terrell Dunnam, Sr. (2009) who was a Baptist Minister for 62 years.
Jim is a native Floridian who always demonstrated fervent loyalty and integrity with others. Jim exhibited an innate adoration for his family and friends. He graduated from Fernandina Beach High School and is an alumnus of the University of South Florida in Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications/ public relations. Jimbo loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior during his childhood years. While in Tampa he was an active member of Idlewild Baptist Church. Jim has exhibited a sterling work ethic and attention to detail as a senior loan officer with First Security Mortgage Services since 2000. He was active in Sigma Alpha Epsilon until December 1996 and held office as secretary of the USF Florida Delta Chapter. Since Jimbo’s 1996 University of South Florida graduation, he has organized the SAE fraternity chapter eternal services over the last 28 years.
The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Idlewild Baptist Church 18333 Exciting Idlewild Boulevard in Lutz, Florida 33548. The family will receive friends during a reception in the Gathera of Idlewild Baptist Church following the funeral service.
