With deepest sorrows, Henry “Gordo” Hernandez, Jr., 26, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020 in Clearwater, Florida. He was born on February 5, 1994 in Paterson, New Jersey. The beloved son of Henry Hernandez Sr. and Evelyn Rodriguez. He attended Rosa Parks High School. Growing up in New Jersey, Henry excelled as an athlete, playing both baseball and football. His love for baseball began when he was just five years old, playing the position of catcher. He was currently an avid softball player (Tampa Bay area softball teams). Henry was passionate and driven in his career as an Electrician, he enjoyed drawing, playing video games (PlayStation), attending sporting events and eating his favorite foods (chicken and bacon).
Henry is survived by his expectant fiancée, Bridget Smith; awaited daughter, Arielle Hernandez; son, Noah Hernandez; mother, Evelyn Rodriguez; sisters, Brittany Hernandez-Meises, Vanessa Torres; brothers Eddie Hernandez, Jahdiel Hernandez. He also leaves his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Sabina Hernandez; maternal grandfather, Eddie Rodriguez; aunts and uncles, Efrain and Cynthia Negron, Lorraine Cadena, and Juanito Hernandez Jr.; as well as various other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Hernandez Sr. and maternal grandmother, Sunilda Rodriguez.
A time of gathering will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories.
