Helga Monika Germany

Monika was born in Berlin, Germany to Margaret and Walter Skalecki. She immigrated to the United States in 1948 at the age of 18 and moved to Tennessee where she learned to speak English.

She married Gerald Guy Germany in 1971. They lived in Alabama where they enjoyed a farm raising catfish and German Shepherds. Guy’s career transferred them to Tampa, Florida. In retirement they settled in Ridge Manor where Monika enjoyed gardening, sewing, making stained glass, creating jewelry and collecting fabric and glass. She enjoyed the outdoors including mowing her lawn and the wildlife surrounding the neighborhood and lake.

Monika is survived by her children Margaret Lackey, Deborah Miller (Hugh), Don Potts (Roxane) and their sons Jonathan and Andrew, Sharon Germany, Eric Germany (Lori) and their children Joseph, Jordan and Jennifer.

Monika will join her husband Navy veteran Guy at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
