HAYES, Helen C., 95, of Tampa passed away on April 11, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell and two grandchildren; Meagan and John. Survivors include her children, Wendell Hayes Jr. of Texas, Judy Cheshire (Lee) of Tampa, James Hayes (Cheryl) of Tampa, Patrick Hayes (Cherie) of Georgia, Peggy VanVliet (Bob) of Tampa, Mike Hayes (Dottie) of Pennsylvania, Helen ‘Sissy’ Saunders (John) of Odessa, and Tim Hayes (Brenda] of Tampa; her brother, James Coombs (Wilma) of Georgia; 25 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Born in Detroit, Michigan; Helen has been a Tampa Bay resident for well over 50 years. Helen aka Nana was the matriarch of the family and guided us with a very loving hand and loved family gatherings. She was a long time member of Incarnation Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, April 16 at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5124 Gateway Dr., Tampa.
