Born in San Luis, Pinar Del Rio-Cuba. Raised there from youth, grew up to to be a key political figure/activist along many of his good friends. Served 7 years in prison due to his political beliefs against the communist government of Fidel Castro. Overcame those years of pure misery by finding his life’s calling as a husband, a father and a professional accountant. He continued to grow alongside his father and brothers, as they continued to grow tobacco farms/fincas in San Luis.
Meeting his wife Marta at the age of 19, prior to being taken into custody, they soon began a loving story which endured his 7 years in prison. After being released they married. Coming to this country in 1985 to find the freedom he truly believed in.
Half a century later a genuinely self made man, Hector worked at times 4 jobs, excelling and staying actively busy until his last few months.
A legacy that will remain in perpetuity.
He is survived by his loving wife, Adela Marta Gomez, his grateful daughter Yanet Camp and three beautiful grandkids he lived for.
Hector “El Tite” Gomez lives on in the hearts and minds of his loving family and friends.
