Born in Wilmington, North Carolina and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida.
She is survived by her son, Michael Martin Pullara, and wife, Cindy, her daughter Gina Pullara Duncan and husband, Robert, Granddaughters, Amanda Johnston (Rex) and Katie Garcia (Chris) of Colorado and great grandchildren, Everly, Addilyn, Tessa, Duncan and Hadley
Sisters, Alice Cockrell (Norm) of Cocoa, Florida, Jean Gorrie of Tampa.
Nieces, Amy Franco, Jodie Talley, nephews, Charles Pace, Jason Gorrie. Cousins, Martha Jeter of Wilmington, N.C, Carol and John Farmer of Raleigh, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Eugena Farmer, and her former husband and father of her children, Michael Joseph Pullara.
Harriette was a Hillsborough County Educator for thirty six years. She contributed to the public school arts program at Hillsborough High School (1973-1991), Gaither High School (1991-2007).
Jefferson Adult, Gaither Adult, Hillsborough Correctional, Charter Hospital Adolescent Unit, and the Migrant Summer Program at St. Leo’s College.
She was honored with “Who’s Who Among Americas Teachers” Award in 2002 and 2007.
She sponsored Art & Literacy magazines, “The Helm” at HHS and “The Silver Scroll” at Gaither.
Her professional teaching career spanned over three decades of encouraging the artistic spirit in her students. Her educational and life philosophy embraced the belief that we are enriched by creative self-expression celebrated through the Fine Arts.
Her greatest gift in life was the love of her devoted children, Michael, Cindy, Gina, Bob, Amanda, and Katie, great grandchildren, loving sisters, family, and friends.
Harriette was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tampa, Alumni of H. B. Plant High and University of Tampa and proud member of the Democratic Party.
No formal service is scheduled. Plans for a private family “celebration of life” will be held at a later date.
Memorial gifts to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Choir, or Youth Group will be appreciated.
