Gus Jonathon Labban, aged 53, passed away on Thursday August 11th, 2022. Gus was born in Beirut, Lebanon and immigrated to the United States when he was six years old with his parents and three siblings. After moving to multiple cities in the U.S., he spent most of his teenage years in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and graduated high school from Bishop Eustace Preparatory School. Gus continued his education in Florida at the University of Tampa, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Shortly after college, he discovered his passion for the automotive industry which transcended into his professional career as an entrepreneur.
Gus enjoyed spending time with his son and daughter whom he deeply adored in Tampa, FL. Whether it was attending soccer tournaments, tennis matches or cheerleading competitions, he was always willing to support his kids in their passions and extracurriculars. He also cherished his trips to Arizona to visit his immediate family, which included dinner parties, skiing, hiking, karaoke, watching sports and his personal favorite, playing the piano. In his spare time, he would appreciate and immerse himself in the world around him. From rain clouds rolling in from afar to full moons rising in the East to even Sandhill Cranes and their hatchlings walking in the backyard, he would sit out on his back patio and take in all the outdoors had to offer.
When it comes to his personality, Gus was larger than life and lit up every room with his smile, laugh and personable traits. He prided himself on helping the people around him, while at the same time bringing a smile to their face. Small or large, he enjoyed every conversation or interaction he had with his family and friends.
Gus was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John O. Labban. He was survived by his children, Austin Labban and Sydney Labban; mother, Samia Labban; sister, Dinah Sacks (Bob); brothers Dr. Brendon Labban and Dr. Christopher Labban (Diane) and numerous nieces and nephews.
