Our friend, Greg it is not your birth date nor is it your passing date that counts. It is however the time spent between those dates that encompassed the dash between them. It is the many lives that you came in contact with and the changes you may have made in theirs lives during that period of time.

When I met Uncle Greg for the first time I felt like I had known him for a lifetime. One of the most kind hearted, full of life person that  I am so happy to have known even for a short time.

I don't remember meeting Greg, because he just seems to have always been part of our Florida family.  He was so easy to love.

Greg was quietly introspective, but always had a twinkle in his eyes.  He was so comfortable to be with.  He had all the attributes of a modern day hero, but would be so embarrassed if this was announced.

So many people have written such beautiful tributes to Greg, and as I read them I was thinking, "that's exactly how I feel about Greg", too.  

Greg reminded me so much of my Dad, who was also kind, humble, intelligent, gracefully accepting of others, and just an all around good person.

Vonnie & Greg had what we all wish for in a relationship.  I have to say how much I admire Vonnie for moving thru the last 23 years of "ups & downs" with Greg's health problems.  What a trip, but they did it together in love.

In closing, I am so sad to know I will never be able to say, "Goodnight, Sweetheart" to Greg again - Love you, Vonnie!

When Greg became a part of our family, he married my sister, Vonn. He was a very quiet, soft spoken guy. As I watched over the years the love and respect they had for one another, I knew they shared a True Love...the real kind, the loving kind, the "I have your back" kind and "until death do us part" kind of love. The kind of love we all dream of and cherish when we find that one. We were raised with the best male role model, who was our father, so it was easy to see how the union of 2 people should be. Our talks in later years are when I really learned who Greg "the fighter" was. He set quite an example of excepting life's battles and yet, enjoy every breath you take and the people you hold close. We so admired him and the love/care my sister gave to him every day of their lives. I am so proud of you, Sis. Greg will be truly missed by Don and I.

Sending love and hugs to all the Weaver family. I didn't get to know Greg well, but I know he was Vonnie's best friend and soul mate. I know they  had a love and respect for each other, I also know, that if Greg could have kept fighting to live, he would, to be with Vonnie. God decided he was tired and needed to go home to rest. He is now in everyone's memories and watching from above. We are never alone as long as we keep our hearts open, and our loved ones memories alive.

Evan Esar once said that you can't do anything about the length of your life but you can do something about the width and depth of it. My uncle Greg is a perfect example of living life this way. He made every day count. He fought for life everyday and never let anything stop him from truly living. He always made the best of every situation. My uncle Greg brought out the best in my Aunt Vonnie and for that I am so grateful. Uncle Greg may not be with us physically but he will live in our memories & hearts forever. I'm at peace knowing we have another angel up in heaven looking out for our family. ❤❤❤

My uncle greg was an amazing person he will be missed very much but least he is at peace with  his mom and dad and his brother my dad Roger Grant  Weaver. I love and miss all of you very much.

How to sum up a man's life in a few words? And in Greg's case it would be impossible. He was one of the strongest men I will ever know. In all his years of living with heart disease, I never heard him being negative or feeling sorry for himself.  He lived his life to the fullest of his ability and was such a wonderful example to others. He brought love and happiness into my sister's life for which I am very grateful. While those of us who have been left behind are left saddened, heaven has gained an angel and we will all meet again someday.

We thank thee lord for the gift of faith, it helps us to bear our cross of sorrow for the dear one gone and all the lost tomorrows.

Uncle Greg will be missed by many of us. So glad my children were able to meet Greg my grandpa Roger and him favored so much. Now Greg gets to reunite with my pa in heaven and their parents. Sending hugs to Aunt Yvonne during this difficult time love you.

My Uncle Greg was one of a kind, just like all the Weaver clan. He showed me that you can be happy even during difficult times. I know his major heart attack so many years ago was very difficult,  but he always kept going and he changed for his health and for his wife. Him and my Aunt Yvonne had many many years together because they both chose to be there for each other.  Their life together is something they should both be happy and proud of.  He will stay in my memories with much love.

I met Greg 39 years ago after I started a relationship with his Sister and soon to be my wife Peggy (Margaret) Ann Weaver. We had a lot of things in common, first our love of the woods (Greg and Peggy and I would go every year to Tennessee to celebrate Thanksgiving with their oldest brother Roger on his 25 acre slice of heaven. We spent many hours in the cars and trucks going to and from Tennessee in those days and got know each other so well) and also our love for the rock/singer songwriter music of the day like James Taylor, Jesse Colin Young, Allman Brothers but especially Jimmy Buffett! He was single then living in Tampa just blocks away from where Peggy and lived in the late 70's. He was fun loving, kind and loved hanging out with friends and we developed a lasting friendship that has lasted all these years. The Weavers were a great family and givers back to the community. He was raised by God loving people and his Mom was even my "Den Mother" in cub scouts! Greg is 6+ years older than me so we never met then, but I always admired the Weaver family as a child. Marrying Peggy allowed me to join this great family and over time Greg and I built a deep friendship. Greg was kind and above all a loyal person to his friends which I felt honored to be included in that circle. Then came Yvonne! Greg found a real soul mate there! She loved the woods, music and the many things Greg did. Peggy and I were so happy to get to know this new member of the Weaver clan! We were so happy to get to camp with them and especially the last camping trip to Jekyll Island, Georgia. We loved doing things with Greg and Yvonne and Yvonne and I had so much in common, mostly the artsy, feely part of our lives. AND we both had one thing supremely in common....We both Married Weavers! Yvonne and I have had a life of love and dedicated mission to serve these two wonderful people, but Yvonne's life of sacrifice has been truly amazing, Greg had a massive heart attack 23 years ago and several heart attacks after that but through an amazing journey she was his been his salvation and sustainer through thick and thin! It is no doubt she has given Greg many more years by her unwavering love and support! And many good years for sure. They would come to Tennessee (They loved our mountain views) and even got to go with us to see James Taylor but not without first going to Jimmy Buffett"s restaurant here in Nashville "Margariteville" We had so much fun!      Greg came as a two-fer special to me. I had known Yvonne for several years but never met him. I ran into her at the Ybor Art Show & immediately thought, "Greg! Greg! I'm going to meet Greg!". Sure enough, there he was. Now I had 2 special friends. A really neat picture of them is in my desktop slide-show.

     In recent years, the 3 of us met at Ruby Tuesday's several times a year, where Greg suffered through all our women-talk. Before that, I talked to Greg many more times than I saw him. With Yvonne's help, he did one very very special thing for me when I was distraught; she knows what this was. One of his other good deeds (you would have to have been there to appreciate this) was to measure a wall for me. Greg was the expert we needed to use a tape ruler without one end flapping around in the air

     In 30 years, I never heard Yvonne say one thing negative about Greg. However, she did tell me that she had kept one secret from him - that she could look in the reflective glass on a picture across from her chair to see what he was doing in the kitchen . I hope he wasn't being bad.

     I have always admired Greg - a really nice person. He managed to take care of himself so well, with Yvonne's help, that he lived 23 years beyond his expectations. They were very fortunate to have had each other. Jean
