Gloria Gomez Gonzalez

Gloria G. Gonzalez was born on June 7, 1931 in Ybor City, Tampa, FL. to Victoria Baez and Charlie Gomez. She is preceded in death by her husband Roberto to whom she was married to for 58 years; parents and her siblings: Marguertie, Carmelina, and Charlie Gomez, Jr.

Gloria was educated in the Hillsborough County School District: Meacham Elementary School; Booker T. Washington, Junior High School and Middleton High School, graduating in the class of 1948. Later in life she became a Licensed Practical Nurse; retiring from Tampa General Hospital. Gloria loved to cook; always enjoyed entertaining and always gave out wonderful advice whether you asked for it or not. She encouraged everyone to further their education; because she was not given the opportunity; it was not available to her at her time.

She leaves to mourn a devoted daughter, Regina.

Gloria was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an associate member of Sacred Heart’s Council of Catholic Women.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 3rd, at 9:00 a.m. Interment to follow immediately at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Regina would like to thank: Dr. Bergess, Dr. Casellas, and Dr. Sierra who have been Gloria’s doctors for years and have been there throughout these last twelve years of her poor health.
