She went peacefully surrounded by her Family.
Gether was born in San German, PR April 29, 1937. She met and married James Hernandez Roman in Manhattan, NY. From this union they have four beautiful children, James, Annie, Johnny, and Anthony. She decided to relocate to her native town of San German PR. She always showed the strength and strong attitude and took it among herself to raise her children with her mother’s (Casilda) help. As she flourished through her younger years she developed her human side in which she showed her love and tender to the family and acquaintances as well. She has shown a motherly love to all friends and neighbors.
We all learned different aspects in life through her wisdom. Her compassion and humanity transferred to all of us and for that we are very grateful. She was very happy and full of energy.
Her favorite phrase that we all know was “La Ultima Deuda la Paga El Diablo”…. Because of that phrase Gether was never afraid to face any adversity to raise her 4 children.
We all are greatly appreciative, Thank you all those who were by her side in her moment of need and tribulations.
She is survived by her four beautiful children James Hernandez (Maribel), Annie Collazo (Charlie), Anthony J. Hernandez (Lucy), and Johnny Hernandez (Cira). Gether was blessed with Grandchildren Daviannie, Hector, James Richard, Chris, Gabriel, Angelo, Sylvia, John, John John, Daphne, Anthony, John. Great-Grandchildren Dereck, Valeric, Zoe, Erin, Enzo, Uriah. Sister Zadil Nazario and her children and grandchildren.
Gether is pre-deceded by her parents Nicomedes Figueroa Y Casilda Vega, her brothers Ariel Figueroa, and Geniel Figueroa.
A visitation for Gether will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614. A final viewing will occur Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the funeral home with services beginning at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Garden Of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
