Georgia was born on September 5, 1941, in Colquitt, Georgia, to the late Bunch and Mary Nelson. Her family relocated to Tampa in 1951 where she resided until her death.
Georgia was a graduate of Middleton High School in the Class of 1960. She was very passionate about reading and made biweekly visits to the library for new books. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. The family’s monthly gathering was something she looked forward to and really enjoyed.
She was employed at Honeywell in Tampa until she retired early due to an on-the-job injury.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Bunch and mary Nelson; brother, Willie Nelson; aunts, Cosby Foster and Dorthy Carr. She leaves to cherish her memories, sister, Gloria Austin; nephews, Ernest Nelson (Brenda), Andrew and Austin, Rashard Sheard, James Spires, Jr., and Robert Butler (Samantha); niece, Shalonda Spires (James) and a host of other family members and friends.
