George B. Wright passed away peacefully on October 28, 2019. George was a 1963 graduate and a letterman in Basketball, Track and Football and was inducted into the Jesuit Hall of Fame. George excelled in Football and was named to the 1963 All City, All County and All State teams. One of the greatest athletes to come out of Jesuit High School. He received a scholarship to FSU and later played for the University of Tampa Football teams from 1965 to 1969 where he was known by his nick name “Big Time”. George Wright joins the many other sleeping Tigers Alumni. George was blessed to have been a graduate of Jesuit, a great Catholic High School, that taught us all to be “Men for Others”. George is survived by his wife of 36 years Beverly Kelly Wright and his children, daughter Kimberly Wright Ransford, her husband, Jerry Ransford, son Christopher Wright and two brothers Gene & David Wright. Also there are an abundance of brothers in law, sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. George worked many years for Original Foods and later retired after many years from Cox Seafood. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me now the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. Rest in peace Dad. We love you dearly and will all miss you!
