He is survived by his wife, Marietta Paris Gunter; three daughters, Kim Gunter Hanes, Tracey Gunter-Rosen, and Kelly Gunter; five grandchildren, Meghan Hanes, Jason Hanes, Nathan Rosen, Grayson Rosen, and Ethan Rosen; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris Dyal; brother, Pete Gunter, and Chubbles and Muffin.
George was a partner with his father in FC Gunter & Son Citrus Company, he was a retired 30+ year member of the Local 433 Boilermaker’s Labor Union in Tampa, Florida, he was a great car enthusiast who built early dragsters, spent many hours at the races, thoroughly enjoyed NASCAR racing, and hunting.
He truly lived life to the fullest, worked hard his entire life, and loved his family deeply! He will be missed immensely.
The family is welcoming family and friends to a Celebration of Life at his and Marietta’s home on Saturday, August 22 from 1-5 pm. Masks will be required.
