Gary C. Hansell (74) passed away suddenly on February 1, 2024. Gary was born on August 11, 1949 to Ellen and Lyster Hansell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Gary graduated from Marple Newtown High School in 1968 where he eventually retired from Conrail. Gary was a devoted and loyal husband and father who enjoyed baseball, football, classic cars, the sound of waves on the beach and was an avid chess player.
Gary is survived by his wife Barbara Hansell, daughter Lauren Hansell and her husband Eric Bungo. He is also survived by his brother David Hansell and Craig Hansell. He will live on as the Grandmaster of our family.
A visitation for Gary will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, Florida 33618, followed by a Memorial Service at Noon.
