Born November 20, 1957 in Almendares, Cuba, Fred came to the United States in 1967 and lived in Harrison, NJ for 29 years before moving to Tampa, FL in 1996. Fred attended DeVry Technical Institute and Fairleigh Dickinson University and received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Fred spent 10+ years as an Electrical Engineer and Quality Management Engineer at AT&T before owning and operating a Chevron Convenience Store and Curbside Carwash over the next 20+ years. Fred received numerous awards and recognitions during his professional career including his “Most Outstanding Process Engineer Award” during his time at AT&T for designing and developing an electromechanical testing machine for dual-line switches.
Fred enjoyed watching movies and TV shows, especially Star Trek, Action and Western Films and Home Improvement Shows as well as testing out new technological devices. Fred devoted much of his time and energy to taking care of his parents at home and extended family.
Fred is preceded in death by his father Fernando Pinto, Sr., and his uncle Armando Diaz, Sr.
Fred is survived by his mother Adelfa Pinto and extended family Felipa Diaz, Maria & Alberto Silva, Armando & Adela Diaz, Kris, Nick, Krystal, Bryan, Jayden and many other family members that love and will miss him dearly.
A visitation will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 5 to 8PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. Graveside services will then take place at 9AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL.
