Eula “Irene” Philbeck of Tampa passed away on October 13, 2015 at the age of 91. Irene is predeceased by her husbands CWO Robert M. Brown and CW-3 Robert H. Philbeck. She was also predeceased by her nine siblings. She was born in Alabama but called North Carolina her home.Irene is survived by her daughter Wanda Holyoke (Gary), her granddaughter Shawn Hohenthaner (David) and her two cherished great-grandchildren Dylan and Jace Hohenthaner, all of Lutz. Irene was someone who gave others her time, love and devotion. She was a 2nd grade Sunday School teacher for many years in Fayetteville, NC and children were blessed to be in “Miss Irene’s class”. Irene was also a long-time volunteer with the American Red Cross at Womack Army Hospital in Ft. Bragg, NC (1992-2006) and received numerous awards and commendations, including the Iron Mike Award, one of the highest honors given by the Red Cross for volunteer services. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a strong and feisty southern lady with a heart of gold.
