Eugenia DeJesus Perez

She was a very dedicated, loving and nurturing mother, grandmother, and Christian who loved her family and anything that had to do with her faith in Jesus. She was a songwriter and composer and has written a plethora of songs which expressed her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was a very caring and compassionate woman who was always intentional about helping others—not just with the tangible things, but especially the spiritual needs. She often spoke of God’s love and her love for Him. She prayed daily and always for her children and family to have a TRUE encounter with God. This was her passion. She enjoyed making crafts such as wreaths, swags, centerpieces, and jewelry, all of which hold echoes of her love. With a grateful heart, we gather here to remember her easygoing benevolence; and we hope to carry some of that with us for the rest of our lives.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father Irene Montero Garcia and Juan DeJesus Santos; Husband Jose Perez; Grandchild, Cindy Cortes; Siblings, Francisca Velez, Cristobal DeJesus, Rita Maria DeJesus, Juan DeJesus, Milagros DeJesus, Jesus DeJesus, Jose DeJesus.

Survivors include her Children, Asuncion Cortes of Florida, Madeline Mundo of Florida, Hector Mundo of Florida, Irene Scartozzi of New Jersey, Richard Mundo of Florida, Maria Carrasco of Florida; Grandchildren, Melvin Cortes of Florida, Joel Cortes of New York, Yisette Blake of Florida, Tracey Diaz of Florida, Siobhan Mundo of Florida, Clarissa Mundo of Florida, Melissa Mundo of Florida, Daniel Mundo of New Jersey, Frank Nicolas Scartozzi "Nico" of New Jersey, Alana Scartozzi of New Jersey, Krista Scartozzi of New Jersey, Gianna Carrasco of Virginia, Janae Carrasco of Florida, Mikey Carrasco of Florida; Siblings, Clemente DeJesus of Florida, Leoncia Seaman of Florida, Luis Antonio DeJesus of Florida, Elba Nelida Meletiche of Florida, Carmen Lydia DeJesus of Florida, Vicente DeJesus of Florida and 19 Great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at The Jewish Home Family at Rockleigh, The VNA hospice team at Englewood, N.J., and Angelica her personal private home health aide.

A funeral service for Eugenia will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. For those guests in attendance the family asks for you to not wear black. Instead wear yellow or other bright colors and represent her love sunflowers as we celebrate Jenny's life.
