Ernest "Nano" Urso

Ernest Urso (Nano) 88 of Tampa passed away February 27, 2022. Ernest is survived by his daughter Stephanie Maria Mastro, husband Stephen , grandchildren Stephano Giovanni and Sophia Gabriella Mastro. Niece's Janie Palmeri , Annette Vaccaro, and Nephew Ross Urso, as many other nieces , nephews, cousins and valued friends and loving family.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life , his wife of 56 years and High School Sweetheart Mary Belluccio Urso His parents Rosario and Josephine Urso and brothers Tony and Frank Urso.

Ernest graduated from Jefferson High School where he was a multi sport Standout. He played football and received, All City and All State Honors. He also played Baseball, and track and field , where he set the city record for the Javelin Throw. He went on to receive a football Scholarship to play Football at University of Tampa , where he received his Bachelors Degree. He worked at Central Trucklines for 26 years, and dedicated himself to teaching for Hillsborough County Schools where he retired in 1995.

Ernest was a member of Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus , and enjoyed organizing multiple Coffee and Lunch groups with his beloved friends and classmates.

He spent his life dedicated to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love , he enjoyed more than anything his time with friends, wonderful stories , and a great love for his grandchildren where he was always a strong presence in their lives and treasured more than life itself.

A private service will be held for Ernest at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park in Tampa on Wednesday, March 9th.
