Emily was born on November 12, 1970 in the Bronx, New York to father Carmelo Acevedo and mother Mercedes Gutierrez. She spent her former years living in Elizabeth, New Jersey where she gave birth to two of her three children, Luis Nieves and Adalisa Cedeño. She later made the transition to Tampa, Florida with her then husband, Carlos Cedeño, where they bore their youngest child, Vanessa Cedeño.
Always looking for a way to do more for her family, she pursued a myriad of educational paths until she found her niche in the medical field. Eighteen years of her life were dedicated to her medical profession where she exhibited love and care towards all her patients as she did for everyone she loved.
Emily lived life to the fullest. Laughing, dancing, and being with her friends and family was her favorite pass time. She had six beautiful grandchildren that she adored with all of her heart. She was a strong beautiful soul, who had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
Her fiancé, Ariel Mengano, her children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, nieces, nephews and friends are left to cherish her in loving memory.
Although Emily has left us she will continue to live in our hearts forever.
Join us in celebrating her life.
