Elsie was born on May 17, 1922 in New York City, NY to Ethel Kosa Zatyko and George W. Zatyko. She graduated from Lindenhurst High School, Long Island NY, in 1939. After High School, she became a seamstress and dress maker in Manhattan, NY. She married William Wade Jones, her lifetime love, after Wade returned from active duty after the end of World War II. They met on the boardwalk on Clearwater Beach in 1947, and have been together ever since. They settled in Tampa, where together, they built several homes. In 1952, the couple welcomed their son, Kenneth, into their home, and set about teaching him all the necessary trades needed to succeed in life. He will remember her as a kind and driven mother who encouraged him to pursue his goals, and to always make the best what you have.
Elsie was an excellent housewife that was always at the side of her husband and son. She was also accomplished at sewing, knitting, and clothing design, and was a fantastic chef. During High School, she made many of the outfits that we used in our rock and roll band. She was a dedicated individual who loved her family and friends, and who would do anything to help anyone.
