MARLIN, Ellen Gunn Farmer, passed peacefully going to a greater reward in heaven to reunite with her family on March 17, 2016, at Gulfside Regional Hospice, Zephyrhills, FL. She was preceded by her parents, Thomas W. and Lois A. Gunn; sister, Carol Heasley; brother, Clark Gunn; and grandsons, Garrett Farmer and Anthony Reichert. She is survived by her beloved partner, Pete Batt; daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Bernie Reichert; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Melinda Farmer; daughter, Lynda Farmer; sister-in-law, Pat Gunn; granddaughter, Jessica Reichert Ferrer and husband, Edward Ferrer; grandsons, David Farmer and Mikey Reichert; niece, Lindy Heasley; and nephews, Bill Heasley and Mark Gunn. A Tampa native and member of the Baptist faith, Ellen graduated from Hillsborough High School class of ‘55, where she was honored as Calendar Girl. She was involved with the many HHS reunions that were held. Always active in community events during her children's early years, volunteering as Girl Scout Troop Leader, Lutz Little League mom and Lutz Elementary PTA President. She received her early childhood education degree at HCC to become preschool director of the First Baptist Church of Lutz for several years, and then later in life became a preschool teacher for KinderCare. Throughout the years she also had the opportunity to work for Dr. Richard Lockey and Oberry’s Outdoor Products. She enjoyed volunteering for Gulfside Regional Hospice Donation Center. She loved her family and friends, but most of all loved giving of herself to help others. A life celebration will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gulfside Regional Hospice in Ellen's memory.
