Elias liked to go by Eli. I preferred to call him Elias and to say his name in Spanish. We met by chance, but I'll forever be grateful to have met him. It took him a bit to get used to me calling him Elias, however, I think it helped to cement our friendship. He would give me a coy smile whenever I did address him by name. As we grew to know more about each other, we learned how to make each other laugh. He always had a listening ear and was ready to celebrate the small victories. He was so comforting. I'll miss dancing with him.  He may not have been the best dancer, but his enthusiasm for life made up for any missteps or squished toes on the dance floor. I'll miss the laughs that we shared over drinks, dumb jokes, and silly dances. "Ski, ski, ski." He was truly remarkable. I look forward to having several dances and laughs with him when we meet again. 

Anyone who had the pleasure of experiencing that bright, warm and sincere smile that Elias had was immediately drawn to his magnetic personality. He was a good friend. He was a loving, kind and doting brother to Michael. And a very loyal, protective, loving and helpful son to his beloved mother Victoria. All of us were blessed to have had him pass through and touch our lives.

In your lifetime, your path crosses numerous people.  A few stand out as exceptional.  I ran into Elias working part time weekends at U-Haul.  He was one of those special individuals who was meant for success.  It is truly unfortunate that his personal lifetime story of success was cut short.  It would have been an interesting read and teaching story for others to follow.  My sincere condolences to the family.

Elias's work for me for several years at U-Haul .He was a great person always enjoyed working  with him. He always came in with a smile and was always willing  to help  our customers as well as his coworker's He was a good role model.   My condolences to his family and friends

Elias and I were the closest in age growing up as cousins. Him and his brother were SO mean as kids, played lots of pranks on me which I will never forget. When I asked my parents for a sibling, my mom responded with you have your two older cousins to play with. Fast forward to getting to know Elias as young adults, he became someone I looked up to easily. He was financially stable, owned his house, and enjoyed his career. He made the best of this world by traveling, going to concerts, loved cars including car shows, drag races, and fixing them, going to the beach and sneaking into hotel pools after :). I could come to him with a problem and confide in the solution he had for me. He was the oldest out of the first generation cousins in America, he was well respected and we all looked up to him. He enjoyed being around his big family and all of our events. He was my role model and like my big brother. He will forever be in my heart. 

Elias, I'll miss hanging out with you down in Ybor,  and talking about cars shows at work. Always so excited to share some car links or new stuff you found. You were always so happy. You were a great friend to have. 

To the family, my condolences and may God be with you through this difficult time. I'd like to think that he will be smiling down on us all.

Elias was a kind person and a good friend to have.  I use to work with him, sat right next to him.
I've only knew him for a short time but, it felt like we known each other longer.

He was always in a positive mood, and never let anything or anyone change that.

I will always remember him for his kindness and egerness to help when he can.

I also had the pleasure of working with Elias at Raymond James.  Always kind, smiling often.   We'd often greet each other in the morning with a cheerful "Mister Gomez.. Mister Castens..."   I will miss joking around with him about how my biceps could never get as big as his.  

I am truly sorry for your loss. He was a great guy, a man of integrity.  I never heard him complain  about anything.

Elias, we will miss you.  Rest in peace brother!


I can still hear your voice, Elias.  "Hey Mr. Clyde, you have a second?"  I tried to get him to stop calling me Mr. Clyde but then it became less of a formal prefix and more of a nickname.  I just wish you were still here! Laughing and showing me cars.  

To his family, 
Thank you for allowing us, at work, to have a chance to be blessed by his presence.  He is a sweet and kind soul the likes of which is rare and always made me look inwardly to see if I am living up to his example of unprovoked nice-ness.  I am so sorry for your loss, on Earth, and pray that he is present with God now that he's absent from his body.

Elias and I worked across from each other for over a year. He had a great sense of humor and was great to pal around with. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I will miss working and hanging out with him.

I worked with Elias for a little over a year and he always carried a smile on his face and an interest in helping others.  Very Bright and helpful, wish I would have had the chance to know more about him.  My deepest condolence to all family and friends, without having to say, Elias Gomez will be missed.
