He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Thornhill Head.
He is survived by a son, Dean Head (Dawn) and a daughter, Marilyn Wirsz (Gary).
He was born in Tampa, Florida on November 17, 1932 to Emmett and Eula Head.
He graduated from Hillsborough High School. He also attended Florida State University (BME) and Andrews University (MA).
In his earlier years he was a church organist and choir director. He was also a music educator, teaching chorus at the middle and high school levels.
Most of his life he devoted to the family business, Head’s House of Music. Along with his wife Shirley, the business successfully served music educators and church musicians for over 50 years.
We are comforted that he is no longer suffering the cruel effects of Alzheimer’s as it truly is the long goodbye.
“And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” - Revelation 22:5
