Sfeir, Edward J. Jr., 70, of Tampa, passed away peacefully at home from Alzheimer’s. He was born in Buffalo, NY and graduated from Canisius College in 1972. There he began his over 45-year career in the insurance industry. He relocated to Tampa with his family in 1984. He and friend, Ken Nicholson, established their own insurance and financial services business, Sfeir, Nicholson & Associates. Ed then went on to work for Principal Financial until he retired in 2017.
He had a zest for life and the gift of gab and had many friends. He loved to travel and enjoyed many happy times on trips with family and friends. He loved music and dancing, especially to the oldies, sports cars, and a good party. Ed enjoyed tanning in the Florida sunshine, golf, the Bucs, and his hometown Bills. He was an active member of the Tampa Carrollwood Rotary.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Alice Chameli Sfeir. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Laraine; son Edward (Allisun) Sfeir; daughters Sarah (Nick) Carter and Jenna (Casey) Jordan; six beautiful grandchildren: Evan and Sean Sfeir, Andrew and Alyssa Carter and Nathan and Abigail Jordan; sister, Marsha Sfeir of Toronto, Canada and brother Kenneth (Katherine) Sfeir of Buffalo, NY; sisters-in-law, Diane (Frank) Johnson of Virginia and Mary (Jerry) Urick of NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to COVID restrictions, services will be private and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date when we can all be together.
