Uncle Eddie was my godfather!  My mom, Genevieve, was his only sibling, his big sister.  I mostly remember his smile and his kidding/joking.  He was fun to be around.  He was talented!  He invented tools, one  that ended up being used by a doctor he knew.  He was a committed worker at Reynolds Aluminum for many, many years.  Uncle Eddie also effectively represented his worker's union, as I recall.   Both he and his wife, my Ciocia/Aunt Beanie, really enjoyed traveling.  Ciocia Beanie helped us to plan our honeymoon in Hawaii!  The last time I saw him was during his very short trip north to attend my mom's funeral.  By that time he was the primary caretaker for his wife/my aunt and did not want to leave her for long.  We enjoyed our very short re-connection and will miss his presence in this world.    

My Dad now joins my Mom and my wife in Heaven.  It was tough to have all three of them taken from my life in a relative short period of time.  My Dad told me some time ago (after he knew he was dying) that when he met up Mom and my wife, he would wait for me to join them in a hand of cards.  I look forward to that day, as playing cards was one of the highlights of our visits.

The photo is a picture of the three of them on one of two trips that my parents accompanied my wife and I to Europe.  Even though Mom was sick with Alzheimer’s, the trips were amazing with them, and I saved the memories in a Shutterfly picture book.


Mr. Ed as we called him was a dear friend and a Mentor for all things. I only knew him for about 10 years, but he made me a better person and happier to be around, wether playing cards or working on some home project, Ed approached the task with a smile and can do attitude. He will always be Dear to my family and I hope he keeps smiling in Heaven. Love always Harry and Linda
