Donna Louise McDonald

Donna was born in Rome, GA to Mary & William McMakin on September 13, 1945. She went to Chamberlain High School in Tampa, FL. She raised her two daughters until she started her career at the Department of Transportation as an Executive Assistant, retiring in 2011 to help care for her grandchildren. She married Kelley McDonald on April 15th, 1988 in Tampa, FL.

Donna McDonald is preceded in death by her parents Mary Sims and William McMakin.

Donna is survived by Kelley McDonald (Husband), Lesley Copeland (Daughter), Shelby Bettini & Rodrigo Bettini (Daughter & Son in Law), Nannette McDonald (Stepdaughter), Gary McMakin (Brother), Tanner Copeland, Riley Copeland, Chandler Copeland, Sofia Bettini, Mila Bettini, and Nathan Wagner (Grandchildren).

Growing up she was a high school cheerleader and later in life enjoyed playing tennis a great deal, joining a league & traveling for tournaments.

Donna was a deeply devoted mother and grandmother. The central figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren, she was unconditionally supportive and found great joy in being around her family. She will be missed dearly by everyone who’s life she touched.

Memorial Services will be held June 3rd, 2022 at 11:00am at Blount and Curry at 3207 West Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donna’s life.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Donna McDonald’s name to the Moffitt Cancer Research Center.
