Don Raymond Gordon, a 40-year resident of Tampa, Florida, died peacefully surrounded by his family, on October 15, 2024 at the age of 76. Don is survived by his beloved wife of over 48 years, Annette Gordon; daughter, Caroline Annis (and David) and grandchildren, Sophia and Julien Annis all of Tampa; and his son Don Gordon, Jr. of New York City; his brother, John (and Helen) Gordon of W. Palm Beach, Florida ; brother-in-law, William (and Linda) Tippin of Washington, DC, and sister-in-law, Marie Colton of Midlothian, Virginia; and loving family in Ohio, Georgia, and France.
Mr. Gordon was born on January 26, 1948 in Columbus, OH. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan with a degree in History and ROTC commission, a Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University and MBA from Wharton School of Business and worked as an investment banker. Proudly, Don Gordon (COL/retired) served his country for 32 years in the US Air Force reserve, as a Judge Advocate General, and was a member of the Tampa Bay Area Committee on Foreign Relations.
The Funeral will be held at 1 PM on November 1, 2024, with visitation at 12PM, in Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 W. Platt St., Tampa, FL 33606. Pastor Sally Campbell-Evans will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend in remembrance of Don's life of love and service. A reception will follow at 2:30 PM at The Stovall House, 4621 Bayshore Boulevard Tampa, FL 33611.
