July 22, 2006 - July 10, 2023
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we gather here today to celebrate the life of a remarkable young man, Demarion Epps.
He knew how to tackle life both on and off the football field. Demarion's journey on this earth may have been short, but his impact was nothing short of legendary.
From the moment he stepped onto the gridiron, Demarion showed us all that he was a force to be reckoned with. He had a love for football that could rival even the most die-hard fans. Whether he was running, passing, or making bone-crushing tackles, Demarion's passion for the game was infectious. His belief in himself was unshakable, even when faced with the biggest challenges. “He truly believed that anything you can do I can do better!”
But Demarion's commitment to success extended far beyond the football field. He understood that achieving greatness required hard work and dedication, and he never shied away from putting in the effort. From his schoolwork to his relationships, Demarion approached everything with a determined spirit and a silly grin that could light up a room.
Above all, Demarion cherished his father. He saw in him a hero, a true partner in crime, and someone who always had his back. His father instilled in him the values of hard work and commitment, teaching him that dreams become reality through unwavering dedication. Their bond was unbreakable, and their adventures together will forever be etched in the hearts of those who witnessed their extraordinary connection.
While in Tampa, Demarion had a serious beach obsession every 4th of July, accompanied by the unstoppable duo of Grandma Jackie “LaLa” and his Mom; you couldn't keep sand out of their toes because that was the only place they wanted to be. But when he was off the beach and back home, you'd catch him side by side with Grandma, washing dishes and cracking jokes, “Awwhhh LaLa, you don't know how to wash dishes," so that he could swoop in and lend a helping hand. And Demarion in skating, he believed he was the smoothest on wheels, always claiming to be the best rolling around in any skating rink. Let's not forget his infamous catchphrase when he was away from home: "Come on, Mom… Cash-app me!" Demarion knew just how to mix love and humor, even when he was asking for a little financial boost.
Speaking of that grin, Demarion had a knack for pretending to be mad, only to break into the most infectious smile you've ever seen. It was his way of reminding us all not to take life too seriously. His humor was unparalleled, and he could effortlessly find the funny side of any situation. We'll forever cherish the memories of his laughter echoing through our lives.
Demarion leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him in their hearts. He is survived by his mother and father, Rosalia Velazquez and Joseph Epps, his adoring sister, Harper Epps, his maternal grandmother, Jackie Velazquez, and his paternal grandmother, Sherry Arruda. In addition, he leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who were touched by his presence and infectious energy.
As we say our goodbyes today, let us remember Demarion's love for life, his passion for his family, and his ability to find joy in every moment. While we mourn the loss of a truly special soul, let us also celebrate the laughter, the love, and the unforgettable memories he has left us with.
Demarion, you may have left this world too soon, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know you. Rest easy, #19, May your smiles forever brighten the heavens above.
