With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dawn Pace Babis, a remarkable woman whose impact on the lives she touched will forever be cherished. She was a compassionate counselor, a devoted bridge for many, and a true advocate for children. She leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, empathy, and profound love.
Born on July 19, 1964, Dawn dedicated her life to being a bridge for others. She had an unwavering commitment to helping people navigate the complexities of life. Dawn was a true confidant and a beacon of hope for many. As a counselor at Trinity School for Children in Tampa, she tirelessly worked to support and advocate for educators, parents, and students. Dawn realized the potential within each child who crossed her path and wanted to ensure that each one had the opportunity to thrive. Her impact on countless young lives was tremendous.
She continued her counseling practice with BayCare Behavioral Health in Hernando County. Here she had involvement in the local schools and the community at large. She dedicated herself to both young people and adults who needed assistance. She had an open mind and heart, always willing to listen without judgment. She created an atmosphere of understanding and unity. She demonstrated that compassion and empathy have the power to bridge any divide. Dawn was an exceptional individual that saw a need and was brave enough to respond.
Beyond her professional achievements, she was a cherished and beloved wife to Robert Babis of Tampa, FL. She was a devoted and doting mother to Drake (Julia) Babis of Birmingham, AL, and Dane Babis of Tampa. She was also a loving grandmother to Ann Everett, Graham and Miller Babis. Her extended family, friends, and coworkers held her in the highest regard.
Her family and friends will find solace in the countless lives that she touched and the legacies she helped shape. She quietly and humbly served as the hands and feet of Jesus for her family, friends, and all the families and children she guided and supported in her personal and professional life. Her unwavering dedication to others and her passion for supporting children will continue to inspire all of us.
In honor of her life and her immeasurable contributions, her life celebration will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home - MacDill. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to support Fostering Hope Florida, an organization dedicated to providing help to foster children and foster families in the Tampa Bay area .
