David Ingram Butler Jr., 86 of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at Gulfside Hospice House after a long battle with dementia. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 10, 1935 to the late David and Lillie Mae Post Butler. Mr. Butler was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from a successful career at GTE Communications. He was a longtime member of Wellswood Baptist Church and enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, listening to classic country music, and was known to his family as a loving husband, father and Grandaddy.
David is survived by the love of his life, Willette Parr Butler, with whom he celebrated 64 years of marriage; two children and their spouses Anita and George Dukas of Naples and David “Allan”, and Anabel Butler of Tampa. Four Grandchildren Dana Sims, Nicole Butler, Andrea Butler and Andrew Butler. And many great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gerald and Herbert “Beaver” Butler and two sisters Patty Butler and Judy McInnis.

The family will receive friends for Visitation Wednesday, February 9th between 1 and 2 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa. Services will begin at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home, followed by Interment at Garden Of Memories Cemetery.
