She was born in Esperanza, Cuba and lived there until she immigrated along with her husband, Gonzalo, to the United States in 1960. She devoted her life to Gonzalo and to her two sons, Jorge and Mario. She lived in Newark, N.J., always in two family homes, her family and her sister’s family. She was a professional seamstress. She moved to Tampa in 1979 and remained here until her passing.
Daisy will be remembered as a loving, caring person who always sought the best for others while never asking for anything in return. She so lovingly cared for her son, Jorge, after he required care after a stroke until she no longer physically could. She reveled in the love and interactions with her grandchildren, Alex, Aidan, and Ava.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gonzalo; three sisters; one brother; and her brother-in-law. She is survived by her sons, Jorge, Mario (Cheri); grandchildren, Alex, Aidan, Ava; and her beloved nieces.
So many thanks for all of the family and close friends of the family that have gone out of their way to help and offer condolences during this time.
