Craig was born in Miami Beach to Martin Luther Buttrill, Jr. and Norma Gale Buttrill on April 14, 1945. He went to school in San Diego, California and Miami, Florida. He married Dulce Maria Buttrill on January 14, 2007, in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Florida International University. He worked for National Airlines for 27 years, and then retired from the School Board of Miami after approximately 10 years. He was a veteran of Vietnam and served in the Air Force. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and being on the water. He was a man of strong faith and was always a steady anchor for his family.
Craig is preceded in death by his father, Martin Luther Buttrill, Jr., his mother, Norma Gale Buttrill, and his son-in-law, James Charles Rowell.
Craig is survived by his wife, Dulce Buttrill, daughter Christy Rowell, daughter Cynthia Buttrill, step-daughter Cristina Ordoqui-Gomez, her husband Eduardo Gomez, his stepson Carlos Alberto Ordoqui, his brother Scott Buttrill, his sister Rebecca Braverman and her family, Michael Braverman, Michael Braverman, Jr., and Samantha Braverman, and the mother of Christy Rowell and Cynthia Buttrill, Connie Drake Buttrill.
Visitation will be July 9, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed immediately by a service at 11:00 a.m. at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 6802 Silvermill Drive, Tampa, FL 33635.
The family of Craig wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the caring and supportive staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Melech Hospice House for making his last days as peaceful as possible.
