Concepcion "Connie" Ritchey

RITCHEY, Concepcion “Connie”, 77, Widow of Buddy Joe Ritchey from Springfield, IL, passed away September 23, 2018. Born in Seville, Spain, she was the daughter of Francisco Romero Chaves and Remedios Nogales Garcia. She met Buddy in Spain, 1964 and they married on August 24 of that year. She was happily married to Buddy for 52 years. He was truly the love of her life and they are now together again in peace.

She spent many years as a military wife before they finally retired to Valrico, FL. She then worked for 25 years at Yates Elementary School for Hillsborough County as a Bilingual teacher. Connie was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Brandon and lived a faith filled life. Connie was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She deeply admired and was completely devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Buddy J. Ritchey in 2016. Survivors include her sons, David Ritchey of Tampa and Alex Ritchey and his wife, Barbara, of Brevard, NC; siblings, Anita and husband Paco, Pilar, Antonio and his wife Paqui, and Jose-Manuel and his wife Cherie, all of Spain; grandchildren, Nicole Jaime, Mandy Stock, and Becky Morrow; and great grandchildren, Raina, Darrin, Lydia, Molly, Isabella, and Sophie; and many other extended family members and friends. A graveside service will be held at 10:30am on Friday, October 5 at Florida National Cemetery.
