WOOD, Jr., Clyde A., of Tampa, passed away November 20, 2017. Clyde was born in Lady Lake, FL, April 15, 1932 to Clyde Sr. and Juanita Wood. His childhood was spent in San Diego, CA where he joined the United States Air Force. During his 21 years of service, his military career not only includes being stationed at several Air Bases in the USA, but took him to locations such as Bermuda, Greenland, and the Philippines. Upon his retirement, he and his family moved to Tampa, FL where he began a second career with GTE. After 15 years, he retired as an Engineering Manager. During his early years, his hobbies included bowling, golfing, and playing cards. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Ida; a daughter, Colleen; and son, Mark. He is survived by two daughters, Christine (Wayne) Rutledge and Carie (Jorg) Moltkau; two grandsons, Shaun (Viki) Rutledge and Brian (Stefanie) Rutledge; four great-grandchildren, Chase Rutledge, Caylee Rutledge, Madison Rutledge and Aviana Rutledge. The family will receive friends for Visitation, Monday, November 27, 2017 between 12 and 1 PM at Blount & Curry at Garden Of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. Funeral Services will be 1 PM, Monday, November 27, at the funeral home, followed by Interment at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Clyde A. Wood.
