She was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Donald Edward Utt.
Her caring approach to life was shown everyday to her loving family, sons; Donald E. Utt, Jr. and
wife, Linda, Larry A. Utt and wife Llurah, and daughter, Nancy U. Burnett and partner, Joe
Celovsky. Five grandchildren; John Utt (Anne), Robin Utt (Courtney), Natalie Sakr (Khalid),
James “JT” Burnett (Moon), Donald Burnett (Sara) and thirteen great-grandchildren; Tyler,
Ethan, Logan, Avery, Gabrielle, Richard, Hope, Danielle, Julia, Edward, Lyla, Sophia, and Nadia
and many members of our extended family.
A lover of life, she enjoyed spending time in her yard gardening, arranging cut flowers, and was
an excellent seamstress and crafter, making so many beautiful clothes and craft items that she
shared. She loved the Georgia/North Carolina mountains and enjoyed her annual trips to see
the color of the fall leaves, sitting on the porch with a cup of hot cider or in front of the fireplace
enjoying cocoa, and special trips in the spring to see the opening blossoms of the new spring
flowers. She was devoted to helping others and her door was always open to family, friends
and neighbors. She was dedicated to her church, First Presbyterian Church of Tampa, and
showed it by not only taking care of the flowers for the church for years, decorating for the
holidays (the Cornucopia for Thanksgiving, Hanging of the Greens & Banners in the Sanctuary,
helping to decorate the Chrismon Tree and arrange the poinsettias) but also by being one of
the Volunteers and Manager of the One World Gift Shop. She made so many friends in the gift
shop as her lovely smile and warm welcome made everyone feel at home. She loved her
“Circle” Bible study group and her special friend and leader of the group, Barb Luthe.
She loved dogs! Strays, Rescues, Pedigree - it didn’t matter. They all held a special place in her
heart and they were all waiting with tails wagging, right beside her husband, Don at the Rainbow
Bridge to welcome her home.
She loved music and especially the choir at First Presby, so appreciatively, A Memorial Service
will be held on December 15, 2019 at the church, First Presbyterian Church, E. Zack St., Tampa,
Florida. The service at 11:00 will be one of her favorites, a Christmas Cantata. Family will receive
friends after the regular service, starting at 12 noon and a Memorial Service will
follow at 1:00. A private burial service will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Myrtle
Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Suncoast
Hospice of Pinellas, or The First Presbyterian Church of Tampa.
