Charles F Peterson, 75, of Tampa Florida, passed away peacefully at his Dade City home as a result of a long battle with COPD. Born to Howard and Elizabeth Peterson in Baltimore Maryland on June 20, 1946. The family moved to Tampa in 1963 where Chuck graduated from Plant High School and met the love of his life Nancy Martinez on a blind date. He married Nancy, “the best thing that ever happened to me”, in August of 1967.
Chuck began working for a small hamburger restaurant known as McDonald’s in September of 1965. He had a remarkable career of 50 years, rising to level of President of the company and helping to build one of the most respected and admired McDonald’s franchises in the United States. He lived a wonderful life surrounded by the respect and admiration of all that came to know him.
Chuck is survived by his wife Nancy, three children Cheryl Neel and fiancé Brian, Chuck Peterson Jr. and spouse Courtney, Christopher Peterson and spouse Trina , Brother in Law Alex Martinez and spouse Lisa, seven grandchildren Haleigh Neel, Tyler Neel, Mackenzie Neel, Chase Peterson, Payne Peterson, Karras Peterson, and Landry Peterson, and two sisters Pat Rhodes and Susan Valdez.
The family will receive friends for Visitation Wednesday, December 22, 2021 between 10 and 11 a.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa. Services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by Interment at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa Bay.
