Charles "Charlie" Perry, age 93, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay Area. He graduated from Jefferson High School, class of 1949; he was a well-known musician during his schooling years and adult life.
He is survived by his loving daughter Melissa Prieto, and two grandsons Alex and Stuart Prieto. He also leaves behind two beautiful nieces, Susan Schulman and Linda Sharp, and many additional extended family members to forever cherish his memory.
He worked in his family-owned business Tampa Iron & Metal Company, and later worked at AMC Movie Theater Westshore for 20 years until retirement. Charlie loved music and dancing, that was truly his passion. He had his very own band and specialized in playing the drums. Charlie became a Mason on December 18th, 1958 at Egypt Shrine Temple and later became a Shriner, in June 1959. He is a past member of the Ybor Optimist Club and the Sons of Italy.
Charlie will forever be remembered for his happy and caring personality. He loved to see people having a good time, especially dancing. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service for Charlie will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Myrtle Hill, 4202 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
