Carolyn Tucker was born on June 21, 1927 in Macon, Georgia to Joseph H. and Ruby Bragg. She moved to Tampa as an infant and lived there the rest of her 95 years. Carolyn attended Broward Elementary, Memorial Junior High, and Hillsborough High Schools. She went to FSU for one year, but decided that attending Brewster Technical School was a better fit for her.
Carolyn married Ernest W. Weis in 1948 and remained married to him until his passing in 1969. In 1972 Carolyn married Charles E. Tucker and they were married for 48 years until Charles’s passing in 2020. Carolyn is survived by her children: Brenda Toebben(Roger), Richard Weis, and Gail Fedechena(John); her granddaughter, Christina Kasm; and her stepson, Charlie Tucker.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joseph H. Bragg Jr.
Carolyn was a lady of many talents. She enjoyed being a part of the PTA, Girl Scouts, Pilot Club, Seminole Heights Garden Club, Seminole Heights Women’s Club, CWF at First Christian Church, a bowling team, and her bridge group. Carolyn was an outstanding seamstress. She made all her children’s clothes, sewed for others, upholstered furniture, and even made ballet costumes. In addition to her sewing skills, Carolyn was an excellent cook. She had her own catering business and provided food for weddings and other occasions. Carolyn was an excellent crafter too. She participated in the weekly craft day at Forrest Hills Presbyterian Church as well as making many craft items at home for the church’s annual craft fair.
In addition to participating in all of her fun activities, Carolyn worked outside her home. She was a preschool teacher at Maryland Preschool, a bookkeeper at Blount’s funeral home, and a bookkeeper at the radiation center at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Carolyn and Charles loved to travel. Whether it be to their house on the Homosassa River, their mountain home in Ashville, NC, or around the world, they were always on the go. They visited every continent except Antarctica; most of them numerous times. From riding camels and elephants, walking along the Great Wall of China, or enjoying the beautiful Alps Mountains, Carolyn loved it all.
Carolyn will be remembered for her love of her family, her sweet smile, and her many talents.
