Carolyn was born in Barberton, Ohio to Donald and Helen Seifert. Carolyn graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Akron, Ohio, and went on to attend Ohio University where she met her husband, Ronald Mihalick. Carolyn moved to Tampa in 1981 with her husband where they continued raising their family.
Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially playing card games where her competitiveness shined. She did not like to lose. Carolyn loved the beach and enjoyed taking long walks along the shore to catch a beautiful sunrise or sunset. She was passionate about reading and enjoyed Broadway musicals and other concert performances.
Carolyn was active in the Catholic Church volunteering in many different roles including eucharistic minister, CCD teacher, and spiritual director, and was a devoted Marian Servant at Our Lady of Divine Providence House of Prayer. When she relocated to Atlanta, she founded a branch of the Marian Servants where she served as president. She appreciated nature and spent time hiking in the Georgia mountains and gardening at her home. She continued to share her grace, warm smile, and love of God with her caregivers at the Colonnade of Carrollwood where she resided in her final year.
During the span of her career, she worked as a receptionist, homemaker/mother, retail sales clerk, and nanny.
Carolyn is survived by her three children Michelle (Michael) Verdisco, Brian (Kerry) Mihalick, and Justin Mihalick; two grandchildren Samantha Verdisco and Steven Verdisco; sister Marilyn Flower and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents Donald and Helen Seifert, sister Darlene Seifert, and husband Ronald Mihalick.
A Catholic Mass will be held in her honor on December 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church 12708 N. Dale Mabry Highway Tampa, Florida. Interment will follow at 3:00PM in the Garden of Memories Cemetery 4207 E. Lake Ave. Tampa, Florida.
