Carolyn Dorothy Alvarez

Carolyn was in the Commercial Insurance industry for over 40 years, and taught night classes to aspiring insurance industry students. She loved working in this field, but especially loved teaching. She served on the Board of Directors for multiple organizations throughout her life. She also was an investor in Ultimate Dance, Inc, her daughter Annette’s dance studio. She worked the business side of the studio for many years and knew every parent and student who walked through the doors. She had a smile for everyone she met and was Annette’s biggest supporter. She was an avid fan of the UDF dance team and didn’t miss a competition until she just wasn’t physically able to attend any longer. But she watched online and cheered them on from home every opportunity that presented itself. There was not a bigger Buccaneer fan than Carolyn, having season tickets for over 40 years! She loved going to the games with her sister, Virginia and cheering on her Bucs! Her passion for football was strong, and she never missed a game; live or on television. She attended every Buccaneer event she could. She loved her Siamese kitties, Kk and Heidi. She treated them like her babies.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Roberts, Dolores Bryant; mother, Julia Adriani; stepfather, Rudy Adriani; father, Gordon Ross. She is survived by her only daughter, Annette Alvarez Gutches; sisters, Mary Norton, Tina Hill; brothers, Richard Adriani, David Adriani.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
