Carole Mizell Kelly Hendry, 73, of Tampa passed away Feb 18 following a three year battle with lung disease. She was know by friends and family as "Zell". She is survived by four children, David Hendry F.M. Hendry, and Ward Hendry of Tampa; and Kelly Hendry Puglisi of Fort Lauderdale; also by three grandchildren Brittany Hendry of Tampa; and Tony and Samantha Puglisi of Fort Lauderdale. She is preceded in death by her brother Daniel Kelly of Atlanta. A proud daughter of the American south, Mizell was born in 1936 in Savannah and grew up in the small town of McRae in southeast Georgia. She attended college at Peidmont Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta and worked as an RN for many years. A devoted mother with a heart of gold, many will remember Zell's infectious smile and sunny outlook on life. Her presence for 73 years was truly a gift to this world. Zell loved music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. Today the choir in Heaven has one new alto with a Southern accent. She will be missed by many friends and family who held her dear. A memorial gathering will take place Sunday February 21, from 7 to 9pm at Marsicano-B.Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Home, 4040 Henderson Blvd, Tampa. A worship service in her memory will be held Monday, February 22 11:00am at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 W. Platt St, Tampa, FL 33606.
